Magnum Stories

Magnum Stories explores how some of the world"s greatest photographers take, edit and lay out pictures. Using the "photo story" as a vehicle to explain their approach, the book features work by 61 members of the prestigious Magnum photo agency. A vast range of photographers are included, from Magnum"s founders - Robert Capa, George Rodger, David "Chim" Seymour and Henri Cartier-Bresson - to the second and third generations of members, including Eve Arnold, W Eugene Smith, Rene Burri, Raymond Depardon, Steve McCurry, Martin Parr and Josef Koudelka, as well as the newest recruits of the last few years. Each of the photographers is represented by a photo story of their choice, laid out to their specifications, and a text in their own voice that offers a rare insight into their individual thought processes and working practice.
