At the dawn of the Christian faith, the seven churches of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Laodicea, and Philadelphia received the message that would capture the minds and imaginations of Christians the world over for the next two thousand years. In their own way, each group faced Satan"s deceptions, with a variety of results. Much as today"s Christians, they thought they knew how best to honor God"s will. Despite the influence of spiritual giants such as the apostles Peter, John and Paul, they were left to question the meaning of their mentors" words, including those found within the book of Revelation. As they pondered its meaning, and wondered how this book could possibly affect their own spiritual journeys its meaning would remain hidden from them.
