The illustrations are by John Nugent Fitch, a printmaker who specialized in botanical drawings and often worked for the Linnean Society of London. For this calendar, twelve exceptional species were selected from a copy of The Orchid Album in the collection of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
