Set in the mid 1800's, four very different men from different parts of America meet in New Orleans and decide to travel west together. Each has a mission hidden close to his heart. At first they do not share their missions. Circumstances throw them into America's war with Mexico. At its conclusion, the men proceed to satisfy each of their quests.
