Colin McDowell is one of the fashion industry"s most senior and respected commentators, with a global profile. During thirty years in the business, he has been a magazine editor and illustrator, as well as being the only major fashion writer to have worked as a dress designer. He is the author of more than twenty books about fashion and style, including Phaidon"s Fashion Today (2000). His work has appeared on TV and radio, and in countless newspapers and magazines. He was for many years the Senior Fashion Writer for The Sunday Times Style, and is the founder and chairman of Fashion Fringe, now in its tenth year. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Senior Fellow of the Royal College, Colin McDowell was appointed MBE in 2008 for services to international fashion. He lives in London and Wales.
