Chris Spedding is undoubtedly one of the most versatile and talented guitarists to ever pick up a guitar. When Mick Taylor left the Rolling Stones in 1975, Spedding was widely toted to be his replacement, but it didn’t happen, and Spedding returned to recording solo albums, producing and playing on a number of recordings by artists as diverse as Jack Bruce, Dusty Springfield, Elton John, Roger Daltrey, Nilsson, Memphis Slim, Brian Eno, John Cale, Mickey Jupp, Donovan, The Moody Blues, Joan Armatrading, Laurie Anderson, Nina Hagen, Tom Waits, Paul McCartney, and Bryan Ferry, and Jane Birkin. All in all, Chris Spedding appeared on over 200 albums as a guitarist and producer. A world record – surely? Since1979 Spedding has been living and working in the United States, which developed into a long-lasting (until 1992) involvement with rockabilly singer Robert Gordon. Spedding also produced the Sex Pistols, The Cramps and Dee Dee Ramone, as well as cooperating! with U2’s Bono on the soundtrack of the Wim Wenders movie A Million Dollar Hotel. Last but not least, Chris Spedding released a dozen solo albums that were light years ahead of their time in terms of style, performance and composition. In the new millennium chris spedding joined roxy music on several world tours, as well as recording and releasing one step ahead of the blues (2002), his first solo studio album in 10 years. Now comes Guitar Jamboree, a live album, "Made In Germany", which contains a number of Spedding favourites such as: Motorbikin’, Summertime Blues, Wild Wild Women, and of course Guitar Jamboree, his signature tune.
