The 2012 issue of the Annual Review of GFolf Coaching focusses on two influential figures in modern coaching, Gary Wiren and Nigel Edwards. Wiren spent many years working for the PGA of America, latterl;y as director of education. He is best known as the author of the PGA Teaching Manual, and for the "Laws Principles and Preferences" model which he devised in 1973. Nigel Edwards played in the GB & Ireland Walker Cup team in 2001 and 2003, and in 2011 he was its non-playing Captain. Simon Jenkins presents an account of Wiren"s coaching approach in the lead article entitled "Dr Gary Wiren, PGA: A "Philosopher Coach" - Evidence-based practitioner and globally influential educator in golf".
