- Friends is a motivating course for young secondary level pupils.The material is designed to capture students" interest through a variety of different contexts including humour, fiction, real life and cross cultural material.Grammar and vocabulary are taught in three steps - presentation, comprehension and practice. Reading for pleasure is encouraged and a carefully graded programme develops reading skills.Each student"s book contains eight sections with four lessons in it followed by a revision section. "Reading corners" and "culture corners" develop students" skills. Each student"s book has a small play at the end.
