- This book is a major contribution to a gendered understanding of the effects of sexual violence and torture on Ugandan women during and following the civil war years in Luwero District. Whilst a feminist analysis is central, it also explores a novel conceptualisation of trauma based on extensive interviews with women and men war survivors.
