A Hero's Guide to Deadly Dragons

How to Train Your Dragon is a series of nine books set in a fictional Viking world. The books were published starting in 2003 as children's novels written by British author Cressida Cowell and published by Hodder Children's Books. In the United States, the series is published by Little, Brown and Company. Hiccup the Seasick Viking (2000) a Children's picture book is not considered part of the main series. 1. A Hero's Guide to Deadly Dragons (2008) 7. How to Ride a Dragon's Storm (2008) 8. How to Ride a Dragon's Storm (2009) 9. How to Steal a Dragon's Sword (2011) There are currently nine books in the main series, the titles of which all include a reference to dragons with the exception of How to Be a Pirate. Cowell has also "translated" one of the books into How to Train Your Viking (2006), which was written for World Book Day, supposedly by her dragon character, Toothless. Cowell cites the Inner Hebrides of Scotland as an inspiration for the book.
