A cry from a child deals with the horrors of child abuse through the eyes of a child growing up in a dysfunctional family. The story of her life illustrates survival skills she and other family members learned in order to be able to deal with the daily abuse they suffered at the hands of their father. The mother was a beautiful and very loving woman who was born in the rural South. She worked in the cotton fields to help support her family. The father was the son of cotton gin workers. They had a large family but never seemed close. It wasn"t until later in my life that they would find out why. This story will deal with issues that were taboo and not discussed until recent years. This story will also open your eyes to what maybe going on behind closed doors even in today"s world.
