This Starter Booklet prepares students for the World Class series (a four-level course from false beginners to intermediate level). The booklet is designed for learners who have had no or very little previous English. Teachers are strongly recommended to read the introduction to the series (Teacher"s Book World Class 1) to find out about the principles behind the World Class series. The Starter Booklet, like the rest of the course, is thematic. The topic is "Myself, and the content stimulates learners to think about themselves and their immediate environment. Later levels of World Class will develop this area further (e.g. "Families" - World Class 1, "Homes" -World Class 2). An important aim of the booklet is to introduce students to basic vocabulary areas (e.g. family relationships / numbers / colours / parts of the body).
