Language Teaching Publications This evaluation of the theory and practice of ELT takes on board current thinking and previous theory to offer a re-evaulation for the individual teacher and the profession as a whole. The book"s main principles are that language consists of grammaticalised lexis not lexicalised grammar, that the grammar/vocabulary dichotomy is invalid, and that successful language is a wider concept than accurate language. Implications for methods, materials and teacher training are fully developed.
