The FAMTAB operates on the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean system and is designed to be family friendly. Parents have access to the full Android user interface while children have a user interface of their own. Parents are able to regulate what games, educational material, and websites are appropriate for their child through parental controls. A removable bumper is also included to help protect the tablet and give children a better grasp.
