Flautist Emmanuel Pahud is featured in the second batch of our series comprising five original artist studio albums in one clamshell box and at an unbeatable price. Disc one in this five disc set features eight Vivaldi flute concertos, including the set of six well-known flute concertos, Op. 10, Flute Concerto in A Minor, RV 440, and Flute Concerto in D Major, RV 429. These works by Vivaldi are performed under the direction of Richard Tognetti, and alongside the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Disc two of this set offers three pieces composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra in C, K. 299; Flute Concerto No. 1 in G, K. 313; and Flute Concerto No. 2 in D, K. 314. Pahud performs Mozart"s Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra with harpist Marie-Pierre Langlamet, and the Berliner Philharmoniker. The third disc in this collection showcases five flute concertos by the German Baroque composer, Georg Philipp Telemann. Disc four in this five disc set features Franz Joseph Haydn"s six Scherzandos (No. 1 through 6), as well as Haydn s Flute Concerto in D, and his Flute Concerto in D Major. These works are performed alongside the Haydn-Ensemble Berlin, and under the direction of Hansjörg Schellenberger. The fifth and final disc in this exciting set highlights a variety of popular works by Johann Sebastian Bach, including Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D, BWV1050, Trio Sonata, BWV 1038, Partita for Solo Flute in A Minor, BWV 1013, and Orchestral Suite in B Minor, BWV 10687. These four works are performed with the Berliner Barock Solisten, and under the direction of Rainer Kussmaul. The variety of flute works presented in this five disc set of original studio albums by Emmanuel Pahud highlight the breadth of Pahud"s performance style and ability. Named "Instrumentalist of the Year 1997" at the prestigious Victoires de la Musique award ceremony in Paris, the Swiss-French flutist Emmanuel Pahud is one of today"s most exciting and adventurous musicians. Pahud was born in Geneva in 1970 and started to study music at the age of six. He graduated in 1990 with the Premier Prix from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, after which he continued his studies with Aurele Nicolet. Emmanuel appears regularly at leading festivals throughout Europe, the USA, and the Far East.
