As a civil rights and peace leader, Dr. Jack participated in the first sit-in and freedom ride against racial discriminatioin,helped introduce Gandhian principles of nonviolence to Martin Luther King, and as director of SANE led the campaign against atomic testing in the Kennedy-Khrushchev era. His autobiography includes vivid portraits of Albert Einstein, Dr. King, Prime Minister Nehru of India, Bertrand Russell, Mother Teresa, Dr. Schweitzer, and other world leaders with whom he worked.
