All new for 2013 is the CCM Extreme Flex 500 Catch Glove. The E-Flex is more of a catching glove than previous Lefebvre designed gloves. The pocket size has been increased from the Reebok Premier 4 580 and 590 model catchers. The cuff box size has been reduced to provide maximum catching surface. The break angle on the new 600 falls between that of the Reebok 580 (90 degree break) and 590 (75 degree break) making for the optimal catching style glove. An HD foam finger rail has been added to the backside of the catcher for added protection along the backside of the fingers. The back cuff is free floating from the catcher allowing the goalie to protrude the glove out and forward. This allows the goalie to really square the glove up to the shooter. The stock one piece cuff design offers a solid rigid surface that will not bend when hit with a puck. Inside the glove there are three tightening straps; backside of the finger, backside of the hand, and the wrist lock. This gives the goalie the option to wear the glove as tight or as loose as they would like for a true custom fit. The 500 series is a great glove for goalies who don"t need Pro level protection and differs from the Pro model in that it uses a microfiber material on the outside of the catcher and does not use injected molded foam. The Nylon found on the Pro model is a 420D and the 500 series uses a 400D. Both 500 senior and intermediate models are available in the one piece cuff construction.
