Financier Hugo Drexler, fiance of the beautiful Golda Madison, was shot through the chest in his plushy apartment at about 6 a.m. Patrick Mallory, Golda"s ex-fiance and Drexler"s rival in more ways than one, was at the police station at the time of the killing, reporting the theft of his car. The prime suspect, Mallory was the only one with the perfect alibi.
