This big band was comprised of many of the players from the great Ted Heath Orchestra, and this fact allied with Gregory"s brilliant arrangements made the Chaquito Big Band a force to be reckoned with. In the days before the Chaquito band"s personnel was listed on album sleeves, the public assumed their albums had been recorded in Latin America, so authentic did they sound. This is well in evidence on the albums compiled here, both of which have a modern, 1970s edge. From 1970"s "The Great Chaquito Revolution" comes the fiery, exiting sounds of Aquarius, Tierra Madre (Mother Earth), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Big Country and Gregory"s own Revolution, among many others.
