Safari LTD Carnegie Stegosaurus
Price 3.40 - 9.85 USD
Stegosaurus was one of the strangest Jurassic dinosaurs. Its most unusual features are the tall, thin bony plates along its back and the two pairs of sharp spikes at the end of its tail. While the spikes were almost certainly used for defense, the purpose of the plates is debated. Some scientists think these plates helped the animal to control its body temperature, while others have argued that they were primarily for display. Stegosaurus is also famous for having a tiny brain - supposedly the size of a walnut. Although this brain was actually closer in size to an orange, it was still very small compared to the total size of the animal. This indicates that Stegosaurus was probably not very intelligent. For over 25 years, Safari Ltd. has been proud to provide this premier line of scale model, dinosaur collectibles.
