This fun apple sorting game is designed for preschoolers / kindergarteners who are developing hand muscles for writing. Montessori early learning recommends grasping tongs in learning play to encourage concentration and utilize the same hand muscles used for holding a pencil/pen. This developmental play set can also be incorporated into pretend play. The game includes 3 1/2" bamboo tongs that are just right for a small child"s hands. It also includes a 2 1/2" wooden serving bowl, eight miniature 3/4" apples and eight miniature 7/8" bowls. Children enjoy practicing grasping, as they take the tiny apples out of the larger serving bowl and put them into the smaller bowls. This enables precision in grasping and placing. The apples have been painted with an eco-friendly beeswax and all pieces have been sealed with an eco-friendly beeswax. The set comes with a cloth muslin storage bag.
