RANGERS and Manchester United are synonymous with success and on May 6, 2013 former players from both clubs travelled to Ibrox Stadium to take part in a Legends game which more than lived up to all expectations. Nine in a row boss Walter Smith took charge of a Rangers team that included a galaxy of stars such as Andy Goram, Richard Gough, Brian Laudrup, Michael Mols and, of course, Ally McCoist who showed he has not lost his goalscoring touch by hitting the back of the net twice. Old Trafford icon Bryan Robson was in the opposite dug-out and he assembled a hugely talented Red Devils squad with the likes of Denis Irwin, Ronny Johnsen, Lee Sharpe and Dwight Yorke rolling back the years. Over 20,000 fans enjoyed this great afternoon of nostalgia and they were served up a feast of football with Rangers running out 4-1 winners to the delight of the home support.
