Based on the classic fairytale by Charles Perrault. Once upon a time... there lived a penniless miller who owned a mill, a cow and a cat called Puss. When the Miller dies he leaves each of his three sons - Henry, John and Carabas - the mill, a cow and Puss, respectively. Carabas, feeling hard done by, wants to leave the mill and seek his fortune. When the evil, hunchback landlord comes knocking on the sons" door to collect the taxes and threatens them, he also casts a spell on Puss that leaves the cat with the power of speech.
